A collection of 30 etudes and 20 duos with accompanying text for the advanced trombonist.
These unique etudes and duets were purposely written in ways that very likely will feel somewhat awkward--either in rhythm, key changes, clef changes or interval leaps. They were not written to be beautiful pieces of music, complete with 'predictable' transitions. They are meant to keep the player alert, not taking anything for granted.
READING AT THE SPEED OF SIGHT offers several different 'methods of approach,' thus allowiing the player to customize the material to her or his own specific needs and maximizing skill building effectiveness.
READ Norman Bolter's blog post about READING AT THE SPEED OF SIGHT.
For your preview and enjoyment, here is a Free Download from the book:
Reading at the Speed of Sight, Etudes 1 & 2 (PDF 69 KB).
Please note: The first of these two etudes is the easiest in the collection. Enjoy!
